With the newest installment in the Hunger Games story slated for release on Friday, Jennifer Lawrence is the apple of the public’s eye right now. Lawrence’s poise and girl-next-door looks have worked in her favor to earn respect both on and off screen. Already secure in her place as a super-star after the success of the Hunger Games, the twenty-three year old actress is making waves as the next big thing. The Hunger Games netted 407 million at the box office, making it one of the highest grossing films of all time. Lawrence’s newest pixie-cut style even has salons all over the country scrambling to perfect the look.
Red Carpet Compassion
At the red carpet release of Catching Fire, Lawrence showed that some of the compassion and staunch determination to do the right thing that her character Katniss Everdeen displays in the films is not an act. Reportedly, Lawrence was being interviewed when she spotted a wheelchair-bound fan crying on the sidelines of the red carpet. Lawrence stopped what she was doing and asked security personnel to assist her in moving the barriers so that she could speak to the young girl. Lawrence bent down and spoke to the girl and her mother, even hugging the girl a few times. Lawrence then posed with the girl and let the girl’s mother take a picture, then signed an autograph for her. The act did not go unnoticed by fans, even being caught on video.
