Those looking for an intense game of football between the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos were sorely disappointed as the Seahawks railroaded the Broncos with a score of 43-8. Notably, the NFL’s most valuable player for the season, Peyton Manning, was intercepted twice and lost a fumble. About the loss, Manning says:

“To finish this way is very disappointing. It’s not an easy pill to swallow . . . I think this team used last year’s playoff loss to fuel us, and hopefully we can use this loss to fuel us next year.’’

The Broncos did not even make onto the scoreboard until the end of the third quarter, after the Seahawks already had 36 points on the board. By then, many football fans had already taken to social media to vent frustrations.

Half Time Show

The one part of the 48th Super Bowl that most fans agreed was a resounding success was the halftime show. Bruno Mars took to the stage with an incredible drum solo, followed by a few of his best loved hits. At 28, Mars is the youngest entertainer to headline the Super Bowl so far. Many had initial doubts about whether the singer could perform to the level of previous artists, but those doubts were silenced in the wake of Mars’ exhilarating show. The Red Hot Chili Peppers joined in on the fun, rocking the stage with their 1991 hit “Give It Away Now”. According to the general consensus, the halftime show saved the day. Did you watch Super Bowl XLVIII? What are your thoughts?
